H2O – Episode 018

YoYoFactory MVP – From the worlds countdown blog “Its 2010. Cars don’t fly, you don’t live on the moon, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw a yo-yo that looks like the 1950’s.  MVP is the epitome of modern yo-yo play. Spin time taken to a new level, smoothness and stability others are yet to attain.” – This is exactly what I call bs hype.

Hyper Yo-Yo Coming Soon!!! – Of course Hyper Yo-Yo is the Bandai Yo-Yo brand that produced yo-yos under license from Yomega, Duncan and Russell during the yo-yo boom.  They were a force to be reckoned with sponsoring such teams as THP.  The mighty force the Bandai brings with them is a force called money, and those deep pockets also provide a direct road into major toy stores.  So if they are looking to spread some money around, we might see something like YoYoFactory in a toy store again, and that could mean the start of something big for yoyos again.

Updated rules for the YoYoSkills/Duncan Imperial Contest –

  • #1: You DON’T have to use a new Imperial, but you have to show that the Imperial is not modded before  you start your 1 minute minimum freestyle.  Holding the Imperial up to the Camera and showing the Clean Gap would be sufficient.
  • #2: If you DO use a Imperial right out of package, you get a 10 POINT advantage over the entries that didn’t use a new in package Imperial.  This makes it more valuable to use a Mint in Package imperial, but not be a requirment.
  • #3: The contest Prizes will be broken up into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, giving the Top 3 scoring entries prizes in the end
  • #4: The Contest will end on November 30th, with voting the week after, and three lucky entries will be getting the a Christmas Present (the prizes) from Santa/YoYoSkills/Duncan
